Johnny Lee Franklin Moore

 Johnny Lee Franklin Moore, affectionately known as John Luke, was a dedicated community figure whose legacy continues to inspire. Born and raised in Gastonia, North Carolina, Johnny was a proud graduate of the Gaston County School System, where he excelled as an athlete at Hunter Huss High School. 

His athleticism, character, and leadership qualities made him a beloved figure at school, where he earned the respect of peers, teachers, and coaches alike. After high school, Johnny became a prominent and well-respected barber in the community. His barbershop was more than just a place to get a haircut—it was a hub for advice, mentorship, and connection. 

Johnny had a unique ability to listen, counsel, and guide, offering his wisdom to anyone who walked through his door. His barbershop became a place of comfort for many, as he provided grooming services and a safe space for his clients to share their lives. Johnny's commitment to service, family, and community extended beyond his business. 

He was a mentor, a role model, and an unwavering advocate for the people of Gaston County. His dedication to helping others and his ability to bring people together made him a vital and irreplaceable part of the community. Tragically, Johnny’s life was cut short, but his spirit, love, and influence continue to resonate through the John Luke Foundation, which was created in his honor to ensure that his impact on Gastonia lives on through education, unity, and leadership.
